VIP Express Emirates ID: 24-Hour Delivery, Cost & Where It's Available

A 2026 guide to ICP's VIP / Express Emirates ID service — same-day and 24-hour issuance, fees, eligible centres in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, and the pros and cons.

If you have a flight to catch, a property closing on Tuesday, or a bank that simply will not open the account without a printed Emirates ID in hand, the standard 5–7 day delivery is too slow. ICP's VIP / Fawri service prints a new or renewed Emirates ID in 24 hours — and at select centres, in as little as 30 minutes.

What "VIP" actually means

ICP markets two related fast-track tiers:

  • Express (Fawri): card printed within 24 hours of biometric capture and payment.
  • VIP service: dedicated lounge, no queue, refreshments, document handling by ICP staff. Card delivered same-day at participating centres.

Both are layered on top of the normal Emirates ID issuance — the underlying file, biometrics, and approvals are identical. You are paying for speed and a softer experience, not for a different document.

For a 2-year residence visa renewal that costs AED 200 normally, the VIP Express route lands at AED 800–950 all-in.

Step-by-step

  1. Pre-book a Fawri / VIP slot via the UAEICP app — VIP slots are limited to roughly 30 per day per centre.
  2. Pay all fees in the app before arrival (cash payment is not accepted in the VIP lounge).
  3. Arrive at the designated centre with your passport, current EID, residence visa, and any supporting documents (medical certificate for new issuance, etc.).
  4. Biometrics — fingerprints, photo, and signature — captured in 5–10 minutes.
  5. Card prints within 30–90 minutes; collect from the same centre.

Pros

  • Card in hand same day — unlocks bank, property, and exit/re-entry workflows immediately.
  • No Emirates Post dependency — couriers occasionally lose or delay envelopes.
  • Dedicated VIP staff catch document gaps in real time, reducing rejections.
  • Useful for senior applicants, families with infants, and anyone with mobility needs.

Cons

  • Cost — the AED 500 VIP add-on is significant for a routine renewal.
  • Slot availability — VIP appointments are often booked 5–7 days in advance.
  • Geographic limit — VIP tier only at flagship centres; other emirates only get Fawri.
  • Not available for first-time issuance to children under 15 if biometrics waiver is pending.

When VIP is genuinely worth it

  • You're flying out within 72 hours and your residence stamp depends on the new EID.
  • You're closing a property purchase that requires a valid printed card at signing.
  • You're a high-net-worth or executive applicant for whom an extra AED 500 is irrelevant.
  • Your card was lost or damaged and you cannot wait for the standard reprint.

When standard service is fine

For a routine 2-year renewal where you have 30+ days to expiry, standard ICP smart-services delivery via Emirates Post is faster than expected — usually 3–5 working days, sometimes 48 hours. Save the AED 500.

Frequently asked

Can I use VIP for a new visa applicant? Yes, once the residence visa is approved and the EID file is open. VIP cannot be used to skip medical fitness or security clearance.

Is VIP available for Golden Visa holders? Yes — and many flagship centres have a separate Golden Visa lane that is effectively VIP-equivalent at no extra cost.

Do I have to be in the UAE to use Fawri? Yes. Biometric capture is mandatory in person.

Can a PRO collect the card on my behalf? Yes, with a signed authorisation letter, your passport copy, and the PRO's own EID.

Is the card different? No — same chip, same data, same validity. Only the issuance speed and the lounge experience differ.
